Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 8/31/17 – Playhouse Nightclub in Los Angeles hosted the Freestyle 50 Challenge finale this past Tuesday night. The competition was the product of a collaboration between Kevin Liles, co-founder of 300 Entertainment; super producer, London on da Track; and, telecommunications heavy-hitter, Verizon.

Using the hashtags #Freestyle50 and #Freestyle50Challenge, aspiring rappers were asked to post a video of themselves freestyling to the beat of Tee Grizzley’s song entitled “No Effort” on either Instagram or Twitter. The winner of the competition was slated to walk away with a single record deal with 300 Entertainment (home of Migos, Fetty Wap, and more), $10,000 in cash, and the chance to open up for a 300 Entertainment artist on tour. Eight finalists were selected out of over 9,000 submissions to come to LA for the star-studded finale.

The finalists battled it out in front of iconic judges and hosts which included the likes of Sway Calloway, Smack White, and Big Boy of Real 92.3.
Rapper OMB Peezy opened the night performing his most popular hit “Lay Down”; however, Redman seemed to be the major draw of the night hyping the crowd with some of his most classic hits.
The winner of this year’s Freestyle 50 competition was Y.K Supe of Chicago (pictured). Congratulations to him!
