The cast of the new “Roseanne” visited THE TALK to discuss returning to the show after 20 years, including THE TALK’s role in getting it off the ground. Julie Chen asks Roseanne Barr, “How does it feel being back, and with the original cast?” She responds, “Well it just feels fantastic. It’s a blast every day. It’s like no time passed at all… We took a short break and then everything was still there.” Sharon Osbourne asks John Goodman, “Let’s talk about how all of this happened. Back in March, you came onto this show and you did a little segment with Sara, is that how all of this started?” He answers, “That’s what I hear, that’s the rumor… We did this little sketch before the show and it just felt oddly weirdly right. And moments later, we were at some network function promoting the show, so it went quick.” Sara Gilbert, when asked about why the show returning was important, says “Our country is really divided, people are so different politically… and our family is a great family that can represent different viewpoints, but we still love each other… Hopefully that’s a unifying force for people.”
Lecy Goranson, the original Becky on “Roseanne,” gets emotional while discussing reuniting with her TV family as the cast of the new reboot visited THE TALK. Julie Chen says, “You originated the role of Becky… but I read somewhere that, you left the show, you didn’t watch it, you didn’;t even watch the finale, and it was only in recent years that someone told you how it ended and it was a spoiler alert for you!”  Lecy Goranson responds, “When I heard the lottery, and then I heard that Dan died… I just thought ‘Oh my god, that’s horrible! That’s so horrible! No no!” Chen then asks what it’s like to be reunited with her TV family, and Goranson starts getting emotional: “It is such a huge blessing… I don’t know if you’ve noticed how talented everyone is who I’m working with… Just being back with my family is something really special to me.”
