Cabo San Lucas, MX (The Hollywood Times) 12/3/22  – Songwriters in paradise – it sounds almost too good to be true. But thanks to pioneering singer songwriter Patrick Davis, songwriters in actual paradise is a reality, and THT had the privilege of joining the festivities in Cabo, Mexico. Where the best in music lit up the night as we fully enjoyed the third nights’ experience.

We’ve been staying at the Bahia Sur Beach Hotel while being fully immersed in the, looking back on what was promised, SIP has overshot the mark. Billed as “a boutique music event, hotel and travel experience,” it retains all the appeal of a more intimate affair but combines all that with the gravitas of songwriters of world class music.

“SIP CABO is filled with everything you would expect from a Songwriters In Paradise with beautiful sights, sounds & flavors”.  The description on the official website reads, “The SIP shows are on the sand, the food is out of this world, the sun is always shining & the tequila is always flowing.  In other words, SIP CABO is a perfect 4 days in Mexico.”

Patrick Davis

That’s an understatement. The lineup included SIP’s “fearless leader” himself, Davis, as well as standout performers including Kristian Bush, “true music man” David Ryan Harris, Nashville Songwriting Hall of Famer Tim Nichols, “6 string storyteller” Chris Stills, “lovebird” duo Johnny & Heidi, “Americana songbird” Lauren Jenkins, 90’s radio icon Mark Bryan, Aussie Kylie Sackley, and Levi Lowrey.

And if you aren’t convinced by the heavenly Mexican location, Songwriters in Paradise  expanded – they also host festivals in Napa and Healdsburg.  It’s always a pleasure to enjoy the warmth of spirits paired with gorgeous music and an expansive night sky.

We had the pleasure of enjoying a conversation with the events’ founder, Patrick Davis. Check back with The Hollywood Times for the interview, plus more coverage from the tropical haven of Cabo.
