SHOWTIME® DOCUMENTARY FILMS CONTINUES ITS STELLAR LINEUP

WITH WORLD TELEVISION PREMIERE OF ZERO DAYS ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH AT 9 PM

NEW YORK, NY – AUGUST 11, 2016 – On the heels of the Emmy®-nominated LISTEN TO ME MARLON, SHOWTIME adds another critically-acclaimed film to its Showtime Documentary Films roster. The world premiere of ZERO DAYS from prolific Oscar®-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney, is set to premiere on Saturday, November 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. The documentary, which premiered to great acclaim at the Berlin Film Festival, has captured audiences and critics’ attention during its theatrical run for its harrowing depiction of cyber warfare and its global implications.

Written and directed by Alex Gibney (Academy Award®-winning Taxi to the Dark Side, Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief), ZERO DAYS is a documentary thriller about warfare in a world without rules – the world of cyber war. The film tells the story of Stuxnet, a self-replicating computer malware that the U.S. and Israel unleashed to destroy a key part of an Iranian nuclear facility, and which ultimately spread beyond its intended target. It’s the most comprehensive accounting to date of how a clandestine mission hatched by two allies with clashing agendas opened forever the Pandora’s Box of cyber warfare.  ZERO DAYS is produced by Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions and Global Produce’s Marc Shmuger, and executive produced by Jeff Skoll and Diane Weyermann of Participant Media and Sarah Dowland.

ZERO DAYS joins an esteemed list of documentaries under the Showtime Documentary Films banner, many of which  focus on the lives and legacies of culture-defining figures, including PROPHET’S PREY, THE WORLD ACCORDING TO DICK CHENEY and RICHARD PRYOR: OMIT THE LOGIC.  Other upcoming Showtime Documentary Films include a feature-length documentary about the extraordinary life and times of comic legend John Belushi and a film exploring the incredible career and complicated life of Whitney Houston.
