WHAT:

The Maharaja of Jaipur and the Royal Jaipur Polo Team, sponsored by Sanjay Kasliwal Jewelers, played in Southampton against a select USA team consisting of Joe Meyer, Nacho Figueras, Bruce Colley and Davis Colley. The exciting match was the end to a 10 day polo tour which began in Santa Barbara, California, continued to Pine Plains, New York, and ended in beautiful Southampton, New York.  The Royal Jaipur team consisted of the Maharaja of Jaipur, Abby Patek, Ransher Singh and Fateh Singh.

The 18 year old Maharaja, known as Pacho to friends, was recently coronated and set about the important duties of making international friendships and promoting business opportunities in his home state of Jaipur. Pacho is the 131st Maharaja in the Singh family line, spanning over 3,000 years and the 5th generation of great polo players. The Maharaja, who was awed by the beauty of the New York beaches and countryside, traveled with his mother Princess Diya, and the Royal Jaipur Polo Team. Bruce Colley, US Ambassador to the International Federation of Polo, organized the few days of exciting polo, as well as a tour of New York City including a stay at the beautiful Carlyle Hotel

A second match was played at the Mashomack Polo Club, a private polo and shooting club located in the heart of Millbrook hunt country, New York. The select USA team consisted of Bruce Colley, John Klopp, Craig Callen, Guy Merison and Max Langlois. The heritage and tradition of Millbrooks Hunt country and rolling green hills was a beautiful backdrop for the day. This prestigious club attracts thousands of polo enthusiasts each summer.
