Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 10/29/18 – Palmera Beachwear bills itself as “Tropical Resortwear for the Salty Lifestyle.” So I was thrilled to try out a “Nicte Acxul” long-sleeved tunic they recently sent me.
A sheer, purple dream to wear on the beach or simply to lounge around in, it evokes both sunshine and moonlight. Traditional Amuzgo motifs are printed on a micro-mesh fabric that feels as breezy and relaxed as it looks. Reds, blues, greens, oranges, and a ribbon detail make it a bright and welcoming piece for any vacation ensemble—or to simply enjoy your own backyard, private pool, or picnic.
Pair any of these dreamy beach cover-ups with a wide-brimmed hat and a pair of sunglasses, and you have a full, chic ensemble for your sunshiny-est of activities. Their simplicity allows them versatile purpose—they could also be paired with jeans, and flip-flops, and a bikini top for a lunch on the beach. Since I live in Los Angeles and frequent the beach and surfside restaurants, this was the perfect top for a number of occasions, including strolling down Venice Beach for a casual shopping excursion.
And while they are designed to evoke traditional Mexican folklore, they do appear, and feel, luxuriously upscale. Nothing about these fashions says anything but pure style for artistic women who love a unique look and bold colors.
Palmera Beachwear offers an array of beach tunics, Kaftans, cover-ups, and sundresses that photos simply can’t do justice. It’s worth it to get one in your hands, in order to appreciate the meticulous artistry and hues woken into each piece.
