Our Summer Film Series is back!

Summer Film Series: Cine Mexicano
Join us on the last Thursday of every month through September for our returning summer film series! “Cine Mexicano” offers unique insights into the culture of Mexico via four renowned and influential films, all of which are in Spanish with English subtitles. Admission is free.

The series takes place during our Free Thursday Nights program from 5:00-7:00 p.m., supported by the City of Palm Springs.

Be sure to enjoy a craft cocktail at Persimmon Bistro before the June 30 and July 28 screenings!

Director Luis Buñuel’s supernatural surrealist film follows a group of wealthy guests who find themselves unable to leave after a lavish dinner party and the chaos that ensues afterward. Leon Polk Smith: 1945-1962

Through August 28, 2022
This exhibition presents the work of the innovative painter, Leon Polk Smith (1906-1996), whose significant contributions to twentieth-century art are becoming increasingly recognized. Using a vocabulary of brilliant colors and simple, minimal forms, Smith challenged some of the most fundamental conventions of painting by dissolving the distinction between foreground and background and freeing his paintings from the boundaries of a rectangular format.Learn More +

Outburst Projects

Outburst Projects are small-format exhibitions that artists create following a month-long artist-residency at Palm Springs Art Museum. The program is designed to support creative exploration, allowing artists to experiment with new bodies of work. The work of our first two participating artists is now on view.

Mr. Wash

Through July 3, 2022

Mr. Wash (Fulton Leroy Washington) is a self-taught artist who learned his craft while serving twenty years of a life sentence in prison for nonviolent drug offenses he did not commit. His first subjects were his fellow inmates, often depicted free and dressed in civilian clothing.
