NFL Kicks Off Super Bowl Celebration With Merch Launch ‘Origins: An NFL Collection’

By Valerie Milano

Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/8/22 – Los Angeles is the place to celebrate. And this year, with the Super Bowl happening right here, the NFL has already kicked off the festivities surrounding the yearly all American tradition. Over the weekend, they held a launch party and pop-up shop for their official Super Bowl merchandise collection, “Origins: An NFL Collection.”

Held at The Revery on Sunday, the collection is described by its creators as celebrating “the fabric of the city by highlighting four Angeleno designers at the intersection of fashion and community.” The merch collection officially went on sale Monday and is now available to the public.

The event was a chance for editors and other media like myself special access to preview and shop the outstanding selections. We were impressed. Origins: An NFL Collection features ‘capsules’ from BIPOC fashion designers, including Albert Lim +Jason Yi  with Rip N Repair. Corey Populus with Circulate, LaLa Romero with Bella Dona, Kacey Lynch with Bricks & Wood.

We browsed products including sweats, tees, hardgoods, and hoodies. Better yet, the designers were on hand to greet guests and talk about their creations during the immersive experience, complete with music, food by Savage Tacos, and product drops.

“To be associated with the NFL on something this big, and for them to lend us their platform, to kind of showcase where we come from, it’s great for us,” one designer said in an on-site interview. “It’s great for everybody.”

Special guests including Dave Chappelle’s famed DJ, DJ Trauma, as well as Kevin Frazier, Co-host of Entertainment Today. Ram’s Player Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Designer Jeff Hamilton were also there. We had a great time at an event that really put us in the mood for the Super Bowl and introduced us to some outstanding fashion and products to mark the upcoming occasion.

“To love LA is to love how culturally rich it is – all four of these brands & designers share a city, but their styles paint a picture of the uniqueness every corner it has to offer,” reads an official press release on the event. “What you create is linked to what created you so when you share your art, you share your origins.”

Origins: An NFL Collection is available now at the official website.
