Top 10 Week of June 13: ‘Hustle’ Remains the English Films Champ, ‘Squid Game’ Re-Enters the Non-English TV List

TOP 10 LISTS:  June 13-19

The NBA season may be over, but Hustle continued to “Euro step” its way into viewers’ hearts.  The inspirational sports drama stayed atop the English Films List for a second week with 57.19M hours viewed. As Adam Sandler’s most loved film on Rotten Tomatoes, “Hustle” continued to receive praise from press and fans alike and made the Top 10 in 90 countries.

“Spiderhead,” the genre-bending psychological thriller directed by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski, debuted at #2 with 35.4M hours viewed. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollet, the film appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries. Following the Tribeca Film Festival’s opening night premiere (which included a flash mob), Jennifer Lopez’s intimate documentary, “Halftime,” entered the list in the fourth spot with 18.88M hours viewed. Giving fans a peek behind the curtain into her life, full of perseverance, creative brilliance and cultural contributions, the film was in the Top 10 in 67 countries.

Viewers also kept “Interceptor” on their radar as the film came in fifth with 13.11M hours viewed. Inspired by true events, “Trees of Peace” took viewers on a journey of an unbreakable sisterhood bond during genocide in Rwanda. The film, directed by first-time filmmaker Alanna Brown, had 9.38M hours viewed.

With announcements of a second season and a reality competition series, Squid Game Season 1 jumped back into the Top 10 non-English TV list with 7.48M hours viewed. New entrants on the list included Brazilian dramedy “Maldivas” (11.3M hours viewed) and Season 2 of Mexican comedy “The War Next Door” (7.71M hours viewed).

While mainstays on the list, Spanish dramas “Intimacy” (30.21M hours viewed) and “Our Blues” (15M hours viewed), Spanish thriller “Wrong Side of the Tracks” (9.68M hours viewed) and Turkish drama “As The Crow Flies” (7.64M hours viewed), kept fans enthralled.

After four weeks, “Stranger Things 4” hasn’t lost its power. The series remained in the top spot on the English TV List with 102.26M hours viewed and appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries. Season 4 was the most viewed title this week and has now amassed 883.30 hours viewed on the Most Popular list.  Past seasons held on strong, coming in at #4 (Season 3), #5 (Season 2) and #6 (Season 1)

Fans continued to explore the two world wars, by order of the “Peaky Blinders.” The sixth and final season came in second with 61.36M hours viewed. Additionally, Season 1 entered the list with 16.42M hours viewed. “First Kill” put a stake in the third spot with 48.77M hours viewed, appearing in the Top 10 in 83 countries. In its premiere week, “God’s Favorite Idiot,” starring Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy, had 22.48M hours viewed and made the Top 10 in 26 countries. Meanwhile, “Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey” and “The Lincoln Lawyer” kept audiences tuned in with 27.64M hours viewed and 17.55M hours viewed, respectively.

On the non-English Films side, fans flocked to new releases. Argentinian psychological thriller “The Wrath of God” (17.23M hours viewed), Spanish action-adventure “Centauro” (13.87M hours viewed) and Polish romantic comedy “Heart Parade” (12.4M hours viewed) debuted in the top three spots on the list.
