The beauty in times of uneasiness, is the renaissance that comes with art. For hundreds of years, women have used art and its honesty to expresses themselves and their strength. Morrison Hotel Gallery is proud to present The Art of Women, an exhibition honoring some of the most powerful women musicians and photographers, from the last several decades. Last night at Morrison Hotel Gallery inside The Sunset Marquis Hotel, Nancy Wilson of Heart, and celebrity photographer and gallery co-owner Timothy White co-hosted the opening of The Art of Women exhibit. Among the VIPs, friends and fans that attended the party last night were gallery co-owner and celebrated photographer Henry Diltz, Julian Lennon, who is celebrating the release of his new children’s book Touch The Earth, the cast of American Pickers, actor Clifton Collins Jr and many others. The Art of Women exhibit includes images of Janis Joplin, Billy Holiday, Tina Turner, Blondie to name just a few, as well as the self-portraits Steve Nicks took that have been called the first “selfies.” Some of the photographers whose work will be featured are Lynn Goldsmith, Lisa Law, Autumn de Wilde, Timothy White, Henry Diltz, Bob Gruen, and other greats who are represented by the gallery. The show will be up from April 21st until April 30th. All the images in the exhibit will be available for purchase on the gallery’s website during and after the exhibit. Advertisement
