Luxury Mexican resort Mayakoba Residences’ Managing Director Carlos Orozco hosted a private dinner party on Thursday, August 18th, 2016, featuring an extravagant La Ceiba Dinner and a special tasting of ultra-premium tequila Clase Azul. The sumptuous dinner was prepared by Executive Chef of the award-winning Rosewood Mayakoba, Juan Pablo Loza, along with Union Cantina’s Executive Chef Scott Kampf. Guests were treated to an extraordinary 8 course authentic Mayan tasting menu, replicating a dining experience that is exclusive to guests of Rosewood Mayakoba resort, located in the idyllic Riviera Maya. The event was coordinated by the leading Sroka Worldwide marketing team, headed by industry veteran and company founder Neal Sroka.

Notable attendees included: Carlos Orozco, Neal Sroka, Juan Pablo Loza, Howard Lorber, Star Jones, Amir Korangy, Richard Johnson, Jason Binn, James Lipton, Kedaki Lipton, Ian Duke, Scott Kampf, Susana Cardona, Thom Felicia, Ed Burke Jr and Tricia Burke.

The event took place in the garden of restauranteurs Ian Duke and David Hilty’s new innovative Mexican restaurant Union Cantina, which provided a beautiful backdrop to the evening, with its rustic chic décor, featuring a mixture of dark woods, Spanish glass and vibrant Mexican artwork.

La Ceiba Dinner pays homage to Authentic Mayan cuisine and heritage, with a name that is derived from the ceiba tree, one of Mayan Culture’s most important symbols, signifying prosperity, strength & unity. The dinner is an extravagant celebration of the food, spirit, and flavor of Playa Del Carmen, served bountifully in a family-style setting, accompanied by free-flowing tequila of the highest quality.
