Luxury Stylist Dani Toma Shares his Success in 2021

By Jules Lavallee

Los Angeles, California (The Hollywood Times) 6/07/2021- Dani Toma is a third generation barber whose passion for hairstyling started at a young age and has continued into his adulthood. He was born into a barbering family, and his family owned both a women’s salon and a men’s salon in Baghdad, Iraq. Seeing this barbering work from childhood piqued his curiosity, and he went on to become more interested in the career as he got older—seemingly the family passion passed on to him as he grew up. Today, Dani Toma is an award-winning stylist with a portfolio of high-profile clients including celebrities, real estate agents, and CEO’s. His impressive Instagram with 41.2k followers shows the latest trends..He has also won awards for his cosmetology work and his signature hairstyles. Dani provides more than just haircuts and has been providing beard shaping and trimming and hair tattoos as well as the traditional barbering services. Dedicated to meeting his customers’ needs, he also provides after-hour services for those haircuts that just cannot wait or work themselves around a busy schedule.

You are well-known as a Luxury Stylist in Canada. Tell us about some of your clients.

I have all kinds of clients! From high-end individuals like CEO’s of companies, real estate agents, lawyers, multi millionaires etc. Though I do service the elite, I still cut regular/average people too.

The thing is, my clients know they can get a regular haircut anywhere but they choose to come to me because they know that imma deliver quality!!! I’m consistent af! Everyday I show up ready to murder the day!!

Tell us about your family history as stylists.

My dad is a stylist. My mom is an Aesthetician. I grew up in the salon! I started sweeping the floors at 7 years old in Istanbul, Turkey.

What trends are you seeing for Summer?

For the Summer I have been recommending a refreshing-clean-look with still having some style! Lots of guys are going light with their hair as well! If you wanna have high-lights, colours, etc, summer is the time!!

Celebs when visiting Saskatoon go to you for their best vision of themselves. What is it like working with celebs and high-profile clients?

In YXE aka Saskatoon we have many celebrities that come through. I love working with high-profile clients because of the seriousness. They are willing to pay the proper price for a proper haircut. They come in regularly and know their haircut is important for closing deals. They understand a haircut is an investment and looking fresh makes them money!

You were quoted, “My clients are a walking billboard.” Expound on this idea.

99.9% of the time people let me do my thing because I’m an expert. If I don’t feel the style a client is asking for will look good, I reject it. I always do what will look best because at the end of the day it’s my name on the cut! I always tell my clients “if you look good, I’ll look good”.

You have 41.2k followers on Instagram. What can we find there?

I do post regularly on my social media with the latest trends!

What is your mantra and how does it relate to your work?

I always try to be in good vibes. Nothing good happens with bad vibes. Good vibes = magic. Life is too damn short to be negative. Positivity heals and attracts beautiful things!

When someone doesn’t know exactly what they want. How do you guide them?

I use head shape & facial anatomy to distinguish the perfect style. Hair type also has a big role in the overall look. I have been in the game for so long that most just trust me and give me artistic freedom.

What does it take to be an award-winning stylist?

So far I have competed in 4 competitions and placed 1st in all of them. I started competing not for ego’s sake or to brag about it. I started competing to really test myself. I have been in the industry my whole life and I was mentored by some of the best in the world and I love putting it all to the test! Winning is a validation of my efforts.

Not only are clients coming to you for styles, you have also created a line of products.

I am an ambassador for the best clipper company in the world, WAHL. I am also an ambassador for the new high-end men’s line REMY RICOS.

Do you have any upcoming virtual events?

I am working on a master class that I will be releasing soon.
