Los Angeles Is 2018’s 6th Best City for Football Fans – WalletHub Study

With Super Bowl LII just days away, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2018’s Best & Worst Cities for Football Fanstogether with its Super Bowl LII By The Numbers infographic.

To determine the best places for loving on America’s No. 1 sport, WalletHub compared more than 240 U.S. cities with at least one college or professional football team based on 21 key metrics. The data set ranges from number of NFL and college football teams to average ticket prices.

Los Angeles ranks No. 6 overall and No. 5 among large cities.

Super Bowl LII By The Numbers

  • $4,945: The average cost of a ticket to the past five Super Bowls.
  • $5+ Million: The average cost for a 30-second commercial during Super Bowl LII (up 87% since 2008).
  • 1.35 Billion: Chicken wings will be eaten during the Super Bowl, plus at least 14,500 tons of chips, 8 million pounds of guacamole and 10 million pounds of ribs.
  • 1 in 5: People would skip the wedding of a close friend or relative to watch their team in the Super Bowl live. More than 1 in 7 would skip the birth of their child.
