Loren and Rose with Jacqueline Bisset and Russell Brown Director

By Tequila Mockingbird

Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 10/17/22 – I spent an amazing evening with Director Russell Brown and Jacqueline Bisset. She’s dreamy gorgeous and so is he! Saw Russell’s new movie Loren and Rose absolutely brilliant.  This was one of the most touching movies I’ve seen in years wrapped in California sunshine and Topanga Canyon goodness, Rose played by Jacqueline Bisset meets with an unknown director of a small indie film who has his sights on casting her in his new feature. As the relationship between them grows they become closer spilling their souls through conversation at their favorite restaurant.

Rarely just a movie pull at my heartstrings as much as this one. This movie is loosely based on the relationship of Karen Black with the filmmaker they were very close friends for many years, I say loosely based because it’s an emotional interpretation of their relationship without being the story of their lives.

Jacqueline Bisset is perfectly cast and her co-star is a perfect balance. Director your Russell Brown takes his time and lets the movie unfurl like a flag in front of your eyes.

The director in the film who plays opposite Jacqueline is Kelly Blatz.  He is a gay director quite funny quite sweet and very loving. It is a love story that’s not a love story.
Kudos to Phil Sand who plays the quirky and irreverent waiter in this most excellent movie.
