Brad Fuhr PS Art Museum

The Presley name will forever be connected to Palm Springs. Losing Lisa Marie this week was a shock to the nation, and hit close to home as we lost a member of the younger generation of Presley’s. She was only 54.

We had just watched her on the Golden Globes paying tribute to Palm Springs Life “coverboy” Austin Butler for his performance in Elvis, who was honored at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Lisa Marie’s parents honeymooned in Palm Springs and that famous home will be on tour for Modernism Week. Their later home here was known as “Graceland West”, according to The Desert Sun. The former property will be seeing many more fans driving by for a selfie in the weeks to come. My Canyon View Estates neighborhood where  Don’t Worry Darlin’ was shot gets daily visitors who want a pic where Harry Styles shot those scenes. He’s part of the next generation of Palm Springs royalty that someday will be eulogized. But for now he’s alive and well, and making another appearance soon in the desert…
John Taylor has the details this morning on KGAY 106.5.

You can check the PSIFF schedule on Sunday night to find out who will be included in the Best of Fest. Check out our listing for links to purchase passes, view the full schedule of films, and Film FinderGet tickets

Dezart Performs presents A Bright New Boise from Friday, January 13 through Sunday, January 22.
