HBO Max Announces “Starstruck;” The CW Debuts “Mysteries Decoded”

ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” topped the night once again, with a 3.5 rating/6 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, that bested “American Ninja Warrior” on NBC (3.0/ 5) by 17 percent.

Top-rated honors shifted to NBC at 10 p.m. care of newsmagazine “Dateline” (#1: 2.9/ 5), which out-delivered competing “Grand Hotel” on ABC (#3: 1.9/ 4) by 53 percent. Chances of a second season of “Grand Hotel” are highly unlikely.

HBO Max Announces “Starstruck”
“Starstruck,” a new six-part comedy written, created by and starring 2018 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Rose Matafeo has been commissioned by BBC Three and HBO Max and is an Avalon Television production. The series will follow twenty-something Rose (Rose Matafeo), a millennial in London, juggling two dead-end jobs and navigating the awkward morning-after when she discovers the complications of accidentally sleeping with a movie star.

As well as being broadcast on BBC Three in the UK, HBO Max will be the streaming partner for the series in the US.


“The Flintstones” Coming to MeTV
Nostalgia network MeTV will begin airing back-to-back episodes of “The Flintstones” weeknights from 6-7 beginning on Monday, September 30. That date marks 59 years to the day that the animated classic debuted on ABC (in 1960). The series was the first regularly scheduled animated entry in primetime and, prior to “The Simpsons,” it was the longest running animated sitcom at six seasons. “Lip Sync to the Rescue,” hosted by “The Neighborhood” star Cedric the Entertainer, will be broadcast on CBS on Monday, Set. 9 at 8 p.m. ET. The logline: “Lip Sync to the Rescue” is an interactive countdown special featuring first responders channeling their inner pop stars and lip-syncing to hit music, a trend that began with the viral video sensation #LipSyncChallenge. Fans are rallying around their favorite videos from departments around the country from Norfolk, Va., to Seattle, Wash., and Skokie, Ill., to Greenville, Texas and more. The top 30 videos were selected from over 1,000 lip sync videos, and over 11 million votes have been cast to date to determine the top 10 that will be revealed during the broadcast. Once the final two videos are announced, viewers will vote LIVE via Twitter to determine the winner. The winning department will be awarded $100,000, and the runner-up will get $50,000, to take back to their communities.
