Actor/Director Melanie Mayron to be honored
Melanie Mayron (https://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/Melanie_Mayron), best known for her Emmy-winning role on TV’s Thirtysomething will be honored at the Santa Fe Film Festival’s awards ceremony on Saturday, February 10th at 6pm at The Screen for her outstanding contribution to the film and television industry. Mayron has appeared in films such as Girlfriends, You Light Up My Life, Missing, Harry and Tonto, and Carwash, and is the director of the feature films Mean Girls 2 and Baby-Sitters Club and TV shows such as Grace and Frankie, Graves, and Jane the Virgin for which she also appears as a recurring character.
Also on Saturday, February 10th at The Screen, at 1:30pmMayron will join SFFF Programmer Aaron Leventman for a discussion of her career followed by a conversation with the audience. Then at 3:15pm on that Saturday is the screening of her Snapshots directed by Mayronstarting Piper Laurie (Carrie) and Brooke Adams (Days of Heaven) followed by a Q&A with Mayron and Oscar-nominated producer Jan Corran.
This year, the Santa Fe Film Festival (http://santafefilmfestival. com)will be held in conjunction with Film Week. This will include the New Mexico Hall of Fame Awards to induct those who made a significant contribution to the NM Film and TV Industry; Film and TV Day at the Capital; Tune Up where panels, workshops, mixers and networking events will commence; and a celebration of Shoot New Mexico’s marketing collaborative.
