GLAAD Interviews Leyna Bloom

GLAAD’s Head of Talent, Anthony Allen Ramos spoke with actress and model Leyna Bloom about her film “Port Authority” which will be in in select theaters May 28th and On Demand and Digital June 1. The film which had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival tells the story of a young man named Paul who arrives in New York City with nowhere to go.  A momentary encounter with Wye (Leyna Bloom), a trans woman of color, leads him to seek her out. Transfixed by her beauty and confidence, a love soon blossoms. In our interview, Bloom talks about the pre-Covid big premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and why the film’s message is so important, especially in the wake of the many trans women of color who are being killed and victims of horrible violence. Bloom also talks about her friend Laverne Cox being named the host of E!’s “On the Red Carpet” franchise.
