LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK – AUGUST 28, 2017 – Fuse, a cross-platform entertainment media brand for multicultural youth, today announced that it has greenlit Trivial Takedown, a new original pop culture game show based on the popular UK series Blink. Produced by Zig Zag Productions, production began on 20 half-hour episodes earlier this month. The series is set to premiere in fall 2017.

As with its UK counterpart, each episode of Trivial Takedown will feature two celebrity contestants competing head-to-head to identify music and pop culture icons, with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. Fuse will provide a mobile-web based second screen experience of this highly interactive fast-paced game that provides fans with the opportunity to test their own music and pop culture knowledge with live polls, trivia and on-screen leaderboards.

In addition, Trivial Takedown digital originals, talent interviews and segments pulled from the series will be part of Fuse branded content distributed on Complex Networks as part of the recently announced cross-platform partnership of the two media brands for multicultural youth.
“We are really excited to bring our UK format Blink to a U.S. audience. It’s the most fun you can (legally) have in front of the TV set, with compelling play-along-at-home addictiveness, witty banter and quick-fire pop culture questions,” said Andy Scott, Zig Zag Productions’ head of entertainment. “I can’t wait to see our celebrity guests getting deeply competitive on the ‘fastest quiz on TV.’”

“With its focus on music and pop culture in the voice of the millennial generation, Trivial Takedown is the perfect game show vehicle for Fuse’s expanding slate,” said J-T Ladt, chief content officer for Fuse Media. “Those elements align with our ongoing commitment to create multiplatform content that can continue to live beyond linear programming.”

This season features some of today’s hottest celebrities, musical artists and a cast of influencers including rapper Kid Ink, Flula Borg, Frankie Grande, GloZelle, Mamrie Hart, Omarion, Brittany Furlan, Gina Brillon, Romeo Miller, Tim Delaghetto, Justine Marino, Kingsley, Ayo & Teo, Sevyn Streeterand Chico Bean.

Trivial Takedown is produced by Ben Paul and executive produced by Danny Fenton and Andy Scott of Zig Zag Productions.
