Los Angeles, CA (The Hollywood Times) 2/20/22 “From” is set to premiere tonight on Epix. The series elucidates the mystery of a disturbed town in middle America that traps anyone who enters. The residents must fight to stay sane and find a way out, while dealing with the humanlike creatures in the surrounding forest.

The Matthews family, Mother Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno), Father Jim (Eion Bailey), teenage daughter Jessica (Hannah Cheramy) and young son Ethan (Simon Webster) stumble upon the town while lost during a road trip, they discover that no matter how carefully they follow Boyd’s (Harold Perrineau) directions to the highway, the road only circles them back to the town again. It is the same experience he and everyone else in the town has had, which has led them to be stuck there indefinitely.

During Epix’s CTAM/TCA Press tour the creators and producers were asked about the mythology behind this series John Griffin replied, “The show really began with the idea of what it would be like if the reality that you knew were taken away and your day-to-day reality became a nightmare. What kind of person would you be? What kind of person would you become? And that idea was really at the heart of where the show first began, and everything grew from there”.

The show’s cast features Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace), Eion Bailey (Band of Brothers), Hannah Cheramy, Simon Webster, and Ricky He (The Good Doctor).

It was created and executive produced by John Griffin (Crater), directed and executive produced by Jack Bender (Lost, Game of Thrones, Mr. Mercedes), and executive produced by Showrunner Jeff Pinkner (Fringe, Alias, Lost).
