New Film Showcases World-Renowned Acting and Directing Coach Larry Moss in ‘The Process’

Feature Documentary Produced and Directed by Mitzi Kapture Set for Release June 2017

(LOS ANGELES) May 5, 2017 – World-renowned acting and directing coach, Larry Moss is featured in a fascinating new documentary that filmmaker Mitzi Kapture has produced and directed.  The Process takes the audience for an inside, behind the scenes look at Larry Moss who has coached Academy Award and Golden Globe Winners, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hilary Swank, Chris Rock, Helen Hunt, Jim Carrey and young talent Hailee Steinfeld to name just a few.  The Process is set for release on DVD, Amazon Prime and iTunes in early June 2017.

The audience is given a front row seat as the film follows Moss working with a young director and his actors through a rehearsal process that will elicit a richer comedic performance by exploring the subtext of gifted comedic writers. The film also features an appearance by writer, producer and director James L. Brooks. Moderated by USC Cinematic Arts Professor, producer, director, Barnet Kellman.  With a special clip of Tracey Ullman and Mel Brooks from The Tracey Ullman Show.  Special feature bonus material added.

American actress, producer, and director, Mitzi Kapture garnered global recognition for portraying Sgt. Lance in Silk Stalkings and was inspired by the prolific series creator Stephen J. Cannell, who supported her interest behind the camera as a storyteller. Having directed several episodes of Silk Stalkings, Kapture continued to explore both sides of the camera.  It was from this culmination of her acting and directing experiences that Kapture conceptualized The Process.

“Having been profoundly influenced by Larry Moss as a director, master teacher and author and observing various directing techniques, I was intrigued to take a more in depth look at the dynamics behind the scenes, so I presented the idea to Larry and started documenting the concept for The Process,” states Kapture. She goes on to say, “We began filming with Larry Moss working in multiple venues and masterclass workshops with a variety of artists who contributed to the film.”

A must see for actors, directors or anyone with a dream, The Process is set to World Premiere on Thursday May 18, 2017 at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood with further Special Screening Events scheduled at SAG–AFTRA Theater in Los Angeles for members only on May 25,, 2017 and then in New York at SAG-AFTRA Foundation Robin Williams Theater on June 22, 2017.

ABOUT LARRY MOSS

ABOUT MITZI KAPTURE

Mitzi Kapture born Mitzi Donahue (MD) is an American actress, producer, and director. Kapture began exploring acting at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta while studying Business and Computer Science at Berry College. Making a decision to focus on acting, she moved to Los Angeles where she was cast in lead roles for film, TV series and movies. Kapture gained global recognition for her lead role as Sgt. Lance in the groundbreaking hit series Silk Stalkings. She went on to portray ‘Joanne Jensen’, a NCIS Agent in Perfect Crime: The Joanne Jensen Story, based on a true story. These projects garnered some of the CBS/USA’s highest ratings. Other movie and film credits include Storytellers, Perry Mason: The Case of the Maligned Mobster, God’s Ears, His Bodyguard, and TV shows such as the pilot The Dark for TNT and  Rules of Engagement on CBS.
