Happy Spring!

With the arrival of Springtime Ethos Elixirs would like to welcome you to the official launch of our all natural, clean burning, chemical free, vegan soy candles, hand poured in Los Angeles, and made with 100% flora using ethically sourced plant material.  Conceived with a passion for light and inspired by the senses, our all natural artisan made luxury candles come in 3 distinct collections; Rebelwax, Gypsywax and Sweetwax, with 9 unique scent profiles.

Our featured scent profile for the Spring season is Calliope, formulated with Tangerine and Geranium.  Calliope was the ninth of the Greek muses.

In October 2016 we had our soft-launch party at the exclusive Petite Ermitage Hotel in West Hollywood California, upon the private roof-top deck as the sun set, the clouds burned orange and the fullness of the Hunters Moon illuminated the night sky.  Surrounded by friends and associates, beneath the stars I introduced Ethos Elixirs all natural candles.

Proud to announce that the following month Ethos Elixirs were available at the largest candle retailer in the world- Candle Delirium, where we sold out, and they reordered!

Please join our mission to eliminate toxic emissions in candles.

LA locals can find Ethos Elixirs at the world-famous Candle Delirium in West Hollywood.  In other locations at the unrivaled ‘In Heroes We Trust‘ Venice Beach, the charming ‘Etcetera‘ boutique Palm Springs, the eclectic Spice Company in Hollywood, and the chic Die Boutique in Oberasbach, Germany.

Calliope (/kəˈlaɪ.əpiː/ kə-ly-ə-pee; was the ninth of the Greek muses.  In Greek mythology Calliope, “beautiful-voiced” is the muse who presides over eloquence and epic poetry; so called from the ecstatic harmony of her voice.  She is spoken of by Hesiod and Ovid as the “Chief of all Muses.”  She is mostly stated to be the eldest of the Muses, sometimes vying with her sister Urania for the position.

One account says Calliope was the lover of the war god Ares, and bore him several sons: Mygdon, Edonus, Biston, and Odomantus/Odomas, respectively the founders of Thracian tribes known as the Mygdones, Edones, Bistones and Odomantes.

Calliope also had two famous sons, Orpheus and Linus by either Apollo or the king Oeagrus of Thrace.  She taught Orpheus verses for singing.  According to Hesiod, she was also the wisest of the Muses, as well as the most assertive. Calliope married Oeagrus close to Pimpleia, Olympus.  She is said to have defeated the daughters of Pierus, king of Thessaly, in a singing match, and then, to punish their presumption, turned them into magpies.  She was sometimes believed to be Homer’s muse for the Iliad and the Odyssey.  The Roman epic poet, Virgil, invokes her in the Aeneid. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calliope

Special thanks to my lovely assistant Ania Hammond who is so helpful, and to my dear friend, and work associate Holly Mattson, who secured and organized the perfect location for our Ethos launch party- where we were taken care of by the coolest most efficient staff around, and to Matt Ahern who supplied the exquisite ‘White Queen’ wine, which was absolutely delicious- thank you Mia Dinelly for the introduction and for the West Hollywood Lifestyle Magazines.  Many, many thanks to all the gracious souls who took part in this monumental event, and last but certainly not least, thank you to my awesome Mother who has offered unwavering support.

Ethos Elixirs was inspired by my father Jack who lost a short yet gallant battle with lung cancer, that prompted me to think about all the toxic chemicals we breathe in our homes.  I made my first candle when I was just 6 years old and always dreamed of doing it again, one day.  Then it hit me- all natural candles!  After a year and a half of research and development, and a few sleepless nights Ethos Elixirs was born.  #allnatural #cleanburning #chemicalfree #forjack

Thank you for your interest in Ethos Elixirs.  We appreciate your business!
