The Karen Pritzker/Jamie Redford education reform documentary makes its US TV premiere on Pivot.  Directed by Redford and produced by both Redford and Pritzker, Paper Tigers follows a year in the life of an alternative high school that has radically changed its approach to disciplining students.  Set in rural Walla, Walla Wash., the 102-minute film focuses on six troubled teens at Lincoln Alternative High School.

After multiple challenges with his students, principal Jim Sporleder decided to change his disciplinary approach after learning about the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study.  The study revealed that stressful events during childhood could significantly increase behavioral issues that could later lead to drug abuse, addiction and suicide in school-aged children.
