Biggest party in running hits the Las Vegas #StripatNight for the weekend of November 12-13

Las Vegas, NV –August 17, 2016 – Snoop Dogg will headline the 2016 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon. The entertainment icon will perform for more than 40,000 runners on Sunday, November 13 during the pre-race concert at 3:00pm prior to the marathon start.

“Snoop Dogg is an entertainer who needs no introduction,” said Josh Furlow, President of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “He’s one of the all-time great performers and we couldn’t be more excited to have him send off 40,000 runners on the Las Vegas Strip as we throw the biggest party of the year in running.”

One of the most commercially successful artists in music, Snoop Dogg has been at the forefront of pop culture around for more than 20 years as. He’ll kick off the marathon weekend-party by performing a number of his of his house party anthems and chart topping hits, including “Gin & Juice,” “Who Am I? (What’s My Name?),” “Beautiful,” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”

The Snoop Dogg concert highlights an electrifying weekend of rocking and running as participants span across all 8 lanes of Las Vegas Boulevard, shutting down the Las Vegas Strip in extraordinary fashion.  Runners of all levels are invited to light up the Las Vegas Strip at night, experiencing the famed boulevard from a unique point of view.

The course takes runners a one of a kind nighttime running experience by taking them down the closed lanes of Las Vegas Blvd. and past iconic Las Vegas sights. This not-to-miss running event was recently named by Forbes Travel Guide as one of the Top 12 Best Marathons in the world to travel for.

The event returns November 12-13 as the only private event to exclusively shut down the Las Vegas Strip at night. Race highlights include all of the must-see Vegas sights such as the iconic ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign, the Fountains of Bellagio, and finishing at the foot of the Mirage volcano.

The running will start on Saturday night with the Brooks 5K presented by SLS Las Vegas, followed by Sunday evening hosting the marathon, half marathon and 10K distances. Runners can choose to participate in the “Remix Challenge” and earn a bonus third medal by running in both the 5K on Saturday and any distance on Sunday.

Race day begins with the Snoop Dogg performance at the Las Vegas Village, across from the Luxor Hotel. In addition to the headliner concert, live bands and DJs of every genre will play along the race courses entertaining and encouraging runners as they make their way to the finish line.
