Los Angeles is the final stop in the yearlong Barbie 60th Anniversary “Be Anything” nationwide tour.
Held in Walmart parking lots nationwide, the free experiential event is designed to inspire young girls to dream and believe they can do anything.
Figure skating champions Tara Lipinski and Alysa Liu will be on site as official Barbie role models to help show girls they can take on any job and achieve any dream.
At the event on Saturday, October 12, Mattel will reveal the lucky little girl or boy whose family is the winner of $20,000 to make their dreams come true after entering their names at one of the “Be Anything” events held earlier this year.
Since 1959, Barbie has been inspiring girls to be anything. From princess to president, astronaut to zoologist, there isn’t a plastic ceiling she hasn’t broken. In fact, she most recently partnered with National Geographic for a new line of figures including an astrophysicist, polar marine biologist, and entomologist.
