BOSTON, Oct. 22, 2018 – Former ‘Bachelor’ Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his fiancée, Lauren Burnham, stars of ABC’s 22nd installment of The Bachelor, unveiled a strategic relationship with Wayfair Registry (to register) for all of their household needs for the living room, dining room and bedroom at their new home in Phoenix. The pair purchased a 2,607 square-foot home in April.
“We’ve had a lot of fun going furniture shopping,” said Luyendyk. “Since we’ve been traveling a lot, we did most of our house shopping online at Wayfair. They have absolutely everything on their site and it was so convenient to have everything shipped to our front door.”
To start, the couple provided the Wayfair team with style inspiration, knowing they were after a modern farmhouse aesthetic with a cool, color palette made up of white, black, greys, with a few pops of color. As a next step, the Wayfair Registry team suggested furniture, décor and tabletop pieces that captured the look they were after. From there, the couple added pieces to their Registry.
“I’ve always been very much into neutral colors, with a pop of an accent color and I love mixing different textures,” said Burnham. “When decorating, my goal has always been to create a space that makes people feel peaceful and relaxed.”
In addition to Wayfair, the couple worked with TCL®, one of the world’s largest and America’s fastest-growing television brand, to outfit their home with innovative televisions, that included the award-winning TCL Roku TV™.
Luyendyk began his journey headlining The Bachelor in January 2018. Following the season finale on After the Final Rose, Luyendyk proposed to Burnham in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles on March 6, 2018. The pair then announced their wedding date on ABC’s The View in May, confirming they would wed on Jan. 12, 2019, at Maui’s historic Haiku Mill (a storied sugar mill) in Hawaii, with about 100 guests in attendance.
Earlier this month, they announced partnerships with Kenneth Cole & Hayley Paige as the designers selected to dress them for their upcoming wedding. In Sept., they revealed their wedding invitations in partnership with Minted.com.
All wedding partnerships have been initiated and negotiated by Luyendyk’s Manager, Klint Briney, of BRANDed Management. Final details regarding the wedding will be released in the coming months.

1. Walk us through your living room. What do you love most about this space? What are your favorite products?
“What we love most about our living room is how open and large it is. However, this became somewhat of a challenge while deciding how to fill that space. We are obsessed with everything in it. From the neutral rug to the white couches to the chestnut leather accent chairs. It is absolutely stunning. We wanted to stick to a cool color palette with a mix of grays and white, but we pulled in a warm mix of gold and brown to add some dimension.”
2. What do you love most about your kitchen? Will you be doing a lot of cooking together? If so, what are your must-have cooking essentials?
“What we love most about our kitchen is the gray marble mixed with the all white cabinets and shiplap backsplash. We registered on wayfair and have been receiving some really fun stuff we can’t wait to try out! Their online selection is truly like nothing else. We were surprised by everything they had! We are in love with our kitchen aid mixer and we both love baking each other things all the time.”
“We both love cooking, so I expect us to get a lot of use out of that kitchen! Some of our must-have cooking essentials would have to be a good set of mixing bowls, quality pots and pans and an overwhelming amount of wooden spoons and spatulas.”
3. Tell us about your dining room. We love that you picked classic, timeless furniture. Tell us why you love these pieces? And tell us which items you think you’ll use most when setting a beautiful table or hosting friends?
“We chose a beautiful birch colored farmhouse table. To make it a little more formal, we paired it with more traditional style chairs. The rug we selected for underneath the table is a bit darker than everything else in that room to add some contrast. We are looking forward to Thanksgiving this year, because we will be hosting our family at our house for the first time. I know we’ll get some good use out of all of our table settings then. The crystal drinking glasses are some of our favorite pieces. It’s going to look beautiful all put together.”
4. Walk us through your master bedroom. What do you love most about it? Was there anything this room had to have? Or anything you absolutely didn’t want?
Lauren: “We looove our master bedroom. We love the woven wool rug. It adds an element of comfort to the room along with the plush white bedding. One of my favorite details is the artificial fig tree in the corner. It was one of the last pieces added to the room and I feel like it really brought everything together.
Arie: “I like the nightstands a lot they are really well made and I like the darker colors against the cooler tones in the space.”
5. The overall design of your space is so bright and fresh – such a clean palette that’s easy to build onto over time. How did you decide on this? Have you always loved neutrals?
“The house really lends to this design and it just made sense to compliment an already really great template. It just feels really open and inviting so having a lot of lighter colors made sense.”
6. Did you learn anything new about each other while designing your home together – if so, what?
Lauren: “We learned that Arie is very attached to his things and I am not at all.
Arie hasn’t moved in 10 years and I’ve moved around my whole life. It was a little bit of a struggle when trying to make room for our new coffee mugs, but luckily we made it through.”
7. Your wedding is coming up fast. Once you’re newlyweds, how do you hope to use your new home (relaxing, entertaining, focusing on designing the outdoor space)? What occasions are you most looking forward to hosting?
“Well we are in the process of putting in a pool so now that we have finished the decor inside we are looking forward to making the outside space just as amazing as the inside. We’ve already got a grill out there and we plan to add some cabanas and a cool sitting area, so it will be the perfect spot for to entertain friends! I think once the wedding is over we’ll probably start planning parties. Maybe for Halloween next year or an ugly Christmas sweater party.
