Additional Titles, Special Guests and Club TCM Lineup Announced

TCM announced the latest additions to the 2023 TCM Classic Film Festival lineup, including a 40th anniversary presentation of THE BIG CHILL (1983) with director Lawrence Kasdan and cast members in attendance; director Steven Soderbergh to present his all-star remake of OCEAN’S ELEVEN (2001); star Ricki Lake in attendance for John Waters’ HAIRSPRAY (1988); and screenwriter-director Alexander Payne for a world premiere restoration of the Cary Grant-Irene Dunne classic PENNY SERENADE (1941) with the director’s son, George Stevens, Jr. Additional Titles, Special Guests and Club TCM Lineup Announced.

This year features another can’t-miss lineup of special events in Club TCM, an exclusive gathering space in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where select passholders can enjoy conversations with actors and filmmakers, insightful presentations from film experts, and enjoy a cocktail from the Club TCM bar.

In addition to interviews with our Festival Tribute recipients, actor and artist Russ Tamblyn and production designer Patrizia von Brandenstein, here’s a sample of this year’s unique Club TCM offerings:

ASSISTING THE CLASSICS: Personal assistants to classic stars like Groucho Marx and filmmakers such as George Cukor recount colorful stories of working with Hollywood greats.

LOONEY TUNES AT THE OSCARSRandy Haberkamp from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and animation historian Jerry Beck present the best of Warner Bros.’ Oscar-nominated cartoons.

BANNED IN THE SOUTH: Actress, writer, and singer Shari Belafonte and historian David Pierce from the Library of Congress discuss the censorship of Hollywood movies released in the American South in the 1930s and 40s, reviewing the role of the movie studios, the Hays Office, and local exhibitors in limiting the reach of Black film artists.

WARNER BROS. COMING ATTRACTIONSRandy Haberkamp shares a collection of original Warner Bros. advertising trailers, from the sublime to the ridiculous.

SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW MOVIES: This popular team trivia event returns with host Bruce Goldstein, founder and co-president of Rialto Pictures and Director of Repertory Programming at New York’s Film Forum.
