Red Carpet Awards Luncheon Celebrating Exceptional, Action-oriented Women and ‘Sheroes’ will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Sheraton Universal Hotel
(LOS ANGELES, CA) – 12/29/2021 –   The Diamond in the Raw Foundation (501 c3), in conjunction with Stone Cold Action by founder LaFaye Baker, announces the 11th Annual Action Icon Awards will be held in honor of Women’s History Month on Sunday, March 20, 2022, from 11 am – 2 pm, at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Studio City and hosted by Mark Dacascos and Roqui Theus. This highly anticipated event attracts some of the hardest working action-oriented women in Hollywood, along with A-list action stars, entertainment executives, extreme sports enthusiasts, and Olympic athletes.
2022 Honorees (Celebrity Honorees and more will be announced in the coming weeks) include showrunner Meg DeLoatch, who is slated to receive the Action Icon Founders Award; 12X Olympic Medalist in Bowling Gazmine ‘GG (Got Game)’ Mason, will be honored in the Dare2BDifferent category; and Tracy Dashnaw, will receive the Helen Gibson Award, as she is a pioneer stuntwoman with over 30 years of experience. The nominations are selected by an esteemed group of entertainment professionals in the fields of entertainment, digital marketing, community development, medicine, and fitness.

 

The ceremony honors entertainment professionals, women who dare to be different, and the unsung heroines behind the scenes – stuntwoman! In addition, the ceremony will put action-oriented women, as well as the directors, at the forefront and create life-changing opportunities. Other categories are Stuntwoman of the Year, Crystal, Action Icon Celebrity Actress Television | Film, Actorvist, Gem, Dynamic Duo, and Jewel just to name a few.

 

Previous honorees and award attendees include Jaimie Alexander, Maggie Q, Patricia Arquette, Zoe Bell, Ming-Na Wen, Angela Bassett, Holly Robinson Peete, Gabby Douglas, Amy Purdy, Shaun Robinson, Garcelle Beauvais, Laila Ali, Jeannie Mai, Yancy Butler, Vivica A. Fox, Tanika Ray, Jason George, and other powerful ‘Shereos’ recognized by the Diamond in the Raw Foundation.

 

ABOUT THE AWARDS
The Diamond in the Raw foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and transforming the lives of foster care and at-risk teen girls between the ages of 12-18 through S.T.E.A.M. (Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics). Diamond in the RAW aims to serve as a deterrent to gang violence, bullying, domestic violence, human trafficking, substance abuse, unplanned pregnancy, and delinquent behaviors that often lead to destructive cycles in at-risk communities.
