Sunday, April 16 Highlights:

  • TCM host Dave Karger joined actress Nancy Dussault and filmmaker, writer, and actress Penny Peyser for a screening of The In-Laws (1979)                                                                                  
  • 35th anniversary screening of Stand and Deliver (1988) featuring actor and director Edward James Olmos, actor and director Lou Diamond Phillips, and film historian Luis I. Reyes                                                                                             
  • Official closing night film and 40th anniversary screening of The Big Chill (1983) with discussion by actor Tom Berenger and actress JoBeth Williams

Michael McKean and Annette O’Toole talk about the genesis of ‘A Mighty Wind’, how they came to write ‘A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow’, and do a brief rendition of the song for the audience.

About the 2023 TCM Classic Film Festival

Movie lovers from around the globe descended upon Hollywood for the 14th edition of the TCM Classic Film Festival. The 2023 Festival took place Thursday, April 13 – Sunday, April 16, 2023. Over four packed days and nights, attendees were treated to an extensive lineup of great movies, appearances by legendary stars and filmmakers, fascinating presentations and panel discussions, special events, and more.TCM Primetime host Ben Mankiewicz served as official host of the TCM Classic Film Festival. The Festival’s official hotel and central gathering point was The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, which has a longstanding role in movie history and was the site of the first Academy Awards® ceremony. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel also offered special rates for Festival attendees. Screenings and events during the Festival were held at the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX®, the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres, and the HollywoodLegion Theater at Post 43. This year’s theme was “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” celebrating film legacies: stories told and retold over generations that have shaped our identities, shared culture, and values. The Festival will put a special spotlight on the legacy of Warner Bros. to mark the studios’ 100th anniversary.
