ANNOUNCES CALENDAR OF OFFICIAL TONY EVENTS 

New York, NY (March 13, 2017) – The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards have announced the calendar for the 2016-2017 season. The Tony Awards, which honors theatre professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, has been broadcast on CBS since 1978. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

Thursday, April 27th

Official cut-off for 2016-2017 Tony Eligibility 

Tuesday, May 2nd

The 2017 TONY AWARD NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCEMENT, sponsored by IBM, will take place at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. A live webcast of the event will be available at www.TonyAwards.com. A complete list of the 2017 nominations will be available at www.TonyAwards.com immediately following the webcast.

Wednesday, May 3rd

The annual MEET THE NOMINEES PRESS RECEPTION, where the nominees will speak with media outlets from around the world about their Tony Nominations, will take place at Sofitel New York.

Tuesday, May 23rd

The exclusive TONY NOMINEES’ LUNCHEON is a chance for the nominees to celebrate each other’s achievements and receive their nomination certificates. The luncheon will be held at New York City’s iconic landmark, Rainbow Room.

Monday, June 5th

The TONY HONORS COCKTAIL PARTY celebrates the 2017 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre and 2017 Special Award Recipients. The event will take place at Sofitel New York. 

Sunday, June 11th  

THE 71st ANNUAL TONY AWARDS will take place at Radio City Music Hall. The three-hour ceremony will be broadcast live (ET/PT time delay) on the CBS Television Network from 8:00 – 11:00 PM. The awards will be followed by the invite-only Tony Gala at the Plaza.
